Ultrasonic Cleaning - Why You Should Care

Part One:

Ever since the 1950s, the topic of Ultrasonic Vibration emerged in the industry as one of the leading powerhouses in 'Parts Cleaning.'

Ultrasonic cleaning typically uses a piezoelectric transducer - the conversion of Mechanical Stress into the release of Electric Charges - to create Ultrasonic Waves at a frequency of 20 - 40 kHz. The frequencies tear the water apart, creating millions of microscopic cavitations - partial vacuum bubbles - which collapse with enormous heat and pressure values. These bubbles get rid of the dirt trapped between the tiny wedges of objects.

The industrial tool is slowly making its way into home appliances. One notable product is made by the company 'Sonic Soak.' Using a small transducer attached to a string, you lower the product into any container filled with a water, resulting in some clean clothes promptly ready to be used.

We should keep track of this mechanic as it does have quite a lot of potential!

Saying this, Ultrasonic Cleaning also has its faults. Stay tuned for 'Part Two' to learn more.
