Fusion Power - A Risky Gamble?

Part One:

Fusion Reactor research began in the 1940s. Fusion Power is generated through the heat from nuclear fusion reactions. The process of fusion typically consists of two light atomic nuclei (the cluster of Protons and Neutrons in the middle of an atom) to create a heavier nucleus. The process releases intense amounts of heat energy. The method of harnessing this energy is where the Fusion Reactor takes its role.

The main selling point and exciting trait of this technology is that if successful, we'd be able to convert something as simple as a glass of sea water into tremendous amounts of energy.

In the next part of Fusion Power, we'll go over the differences between Fission and Fusion, and an introduction to the chemistry of the atoms. Stay tuned!
