Fusion Power - A Risky Gamble? (3)
Fusion Power - A Risky Gamble?
Part Three:
On this section, we will be reviewing the progress of fusion power as a whole.
The few most notable groups currently working on Fusion Power are:
- ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor)
- SPARC (Commonwealth Fusion Systems)
- Tokamak Energy
- AGNI Energy
- General Fusion
- JET (Joint European Torus)
Many of these companies follow a set path of design principles. The end product is still the same, though; fusion energy.
Currently, there are 5 mains designs of Fusion Reactors:
Magnetic-Confinement Fusion

Inertial-Confinement Fusion

Magnetized Target Fusion

Field-Reversed Configuration

Stellarator

The next few posts on fusion reactor will be dedicated to each of these Fusion Reactor designs.
Some of these are really promising!
